Christian von Zimmermann started in 2004 with a professorship funded by the Swiss National Fund with a first project working on a new edition of Gotthelf. From 2004–2015 he was a member of the board and headed one of the two parallel working groups of the HKG. Since 2015 he has been principal investigator of the HKG heading the research hub Jeremias Gotthelf.
Moreover, since 2008 Christian von Zimmermann has been a lecturer at the Institute of German language and literature and for editorial philology at the University of Bern’s Walter Benjamin College.
